25 Oct 2006 - VIP Space @ Flying Colours Gallery
This summer has been far from quiet with the development of further gallery space at the 6 Burnsall Street gallery. Director Ruth Mulvie says, "we wanted to create an intimate space for our clients to view further works available in the gallery apart from those on exhibition." The space is now open and an extensive selection of works can be viewed here during gallery hours or by prior appointment on Sundays or evenings.
25 Oct 2006 - Web site
As you can see the VIP space is not the only area of the gallery to have been redeveloped; the website has been dramatically re-designed.
10 Nov 2006 - Birth of Venus
Soon to be welcomed to the gallery is photographer Kylie Ruszczynski who will be featuring at the AAF art fair in Battersea Park in March 2007. Ruszczynski works solely in black and white and her work plays on identity, compulsive diarisation and disguise. In this series of work the artist makes a nod to the work of old masters in her own playful portrayal of Venus.
30 Nov 2006 - BP Portrait Prize Winner
We are delighted to be working with Angela Reilly. Based in Scotland Angela describes her work as "landscapes of the flesh". Her immaculate painting technique allows her to render some of the most exciting figurative painting coming out of Scotland. Awarded third place in the prestigious BP Portrait Prize this year we look forward to Reilly's Solo Show with us in Autumn 2007.
