Francis Farmar
Francis Farmar was born in Surrey in 1948 and began painting at an early age. He won the Eton College School Drawing Prize and later studied in Florence at Simi's Academy. He attended St Martins's School of Art and the West of England College of Art, Bristol, graduating in 1971.
After working in Christie’s Modern British Picture department in London he resumed painting in the mid-1980’s and lived in Scotland until 1993, working both as an artist and independent art consultant. Farmar has now for some time been a full-time artist based in the West Country. .
He works within a long tradition of panoramic landscape painting, to which is added his own distinctive vision of life which captures and encapsulates the joy, life and spirit of a place.
Farmar’s second solo exhibition with Flying Colours Gallery will be in October 2010.
Works range in price from £3,500 to £15,000
